With multiple qualifying events leading to a final championship, competitors earn points, gain experience, and represent their community. Whether it’s their first competition or they’ve been training for years, we have something for everyone. The focus is on fair competition, steady progression, and strengthening the Tricking community across California.
California Tricking Championships put trickers of every level on the floor - not just the top 1% of athletes. We give beginner and intermediate trickers a place to compete, push themselves, and gain real experience in a fun, high-energy environment!

California Tricking Championship competitions are open for intermediate-level trickers and above. We have two age categories - Youth (17 and under) and Open. You DO NOT have to be from California to compete! All competitions are open to everyone!
Yes! All athletes perform in the Preliminary Round that determines seeding. From there, athletes are grouped into four-person divisions based on performance, ensuring balanced and competitive divisions. Each division is independent of each other and will have their own winners.
No. All California Tricking Championship events are open-entry. You do not need to qualify for Regionals or State competitions. Anyone who meets the age requirements may register and compete.
Regional and State competitions exist to award different point values and help determine season rankings. State competitions carry a higher point value, but they are not exclusive or invite-only.
Athletes earn points at each CATC event throughout the season. The athlete with the highest total points at the end of the season is crowned the California Tricking Championship season winner. There will be a season winner for both the Youth and the Open age categories.
